Quick Answer
Build the first mercenary corps around coverage, not a fabricated tier list. Pair crew with suitable unit families, inspect the mission, and keep enough flexibility to answer range, mobility, defense or battlefield-control problems.
First Campaign Routine
- Read the mission and faction context before buying or modifying a unit.
- Give each pilot or captain a defined battlefield job.
- Balance ships, mecha, artillery or fighters according to the objective.
- Account for stealth, mines, fog, ramming, shelling, shields and defensive fields.
- After battle, invest in the weakness that actually cost the mission.
Official materials describe over 100 important characters and 70 available units. That breadth makes a universal “best” answer unreliable without current comparative testing.
